Refugee World Cup is a documentary film project that follows a group of refugees in Brazil in their effort to organize a football tournament that would unite them. It's a mosaic of stories of people who ran away from wars and persecutions and try to rebuild lives in São Paulo.
The tournament by it self was realised and united 16 teams from different countries, it attracted a major attention from Brazilian and international media. All the process of organisation and the event were captured by two filmmakers, Sandro Kakabadze and Naor Elimelech, right now the filmmakers are looking for collaborations to finalize the film.
Both filmmakers are "Refugees of Love", they are foreigns that moved to Latin America after marrying Brazilian women.
